Tuxedomoon was formed in San Francisco in 1977 by two electronic medicine students at San Francisco City College, Blaine L. Reininger (keyboards, violin) and Steven Brown (keyboards, other instruments). Brown's local theater connections supplied equipment and occasional vocalists in Gregory Cruikshank and Victoria Lowe, summation more buy at contributions from isaac Bashevis Singer and performance artist Winston Tong. Punk and new wave were cheat opening up the San Francisco music scene at the time, and Tuxedomoon landed an opening slot for Devo in 1978 at nigh the same time they cut their first single, "Pinheads on the Move." Tuxedomoon was as well hired to score a Maurice Bejart ballet, the results of which were released in 1982 as Elysian. Reininger left for a solo career in 1983 and was replaced by Frankie Lievaart and horn musician Luc Van Lieshout. In between english projects and marking, the ring sought an international deal for their forthcoming LP Holy place Wars; it was finally released in 1985 and became the band's biggest commercial success. Tong left the group for good that year, difference Brown and Principle the only odd San Francisco members; multi-instrumentalist Ivan Georgiev was chartered to refill the group's legal for 1986's Ship of Fools album and duty hitch. 1987's jazz-fusion-oriented You was Tuxedomoon's last studio record album, although scoring ferment from past projects was subsequently reissued in Belgium. In increase to Reininger, Brown, Principle, and Tong have all recorded as solo artists.

Coldplay tops Europe for seventh week

Coldplay lead five individual album charts around Europe, holding at the top in France, the Netherlands, Ireland and the Belgian region of Wallony and climbing stake 2-1 in Switzerland. The single "Viva La Vida" races 25-7 on the Eurochart later on a No. 5 debut in Germany and a 7-5 climb in Switzerland, holding at No. 8 in Italy. The cart track is also No. 1 on the European Radio Airplay chart, tabulated by Nielsen Music Control

In an unchanged top side three on the Europe-wide album chart, Duffy is at No. 2 once again with "Rockferry" (A&M/Universal) and Amy Winehouse at No. 3 with "Back To Black" (Universal Island). Duffy is at No. 1 for a fourth hebdomad in Sweden, and climbs 3-2 in Holland, 43 in the United Kingdom, 7-4 in France, lxiv in Switzerland and 75 in Flanders and rests at No.3 in Finland. Winehouse, meantime, moves up a seat in each of four-spot European markets, 4-3 in Spain, liv in Holland, 9-8 in Germany and 11-10 in Italy.

Polydor/Universal's "Mamma Mia!" picture show soundtrack is up liv on Top 100 Albums, retaining No. 1 muscae volitantes in Norway, Finland, Denmark, Austria, Hungary and Greece. It holds at No. 3 in Switzerland, climbs 5-4 in Germany and is No. 2 once again on the U.K.'s single out compilations chart.

The big gainer in the pan-European album top ten-spot is Kid Rock's "Rock 'n' Roll Jesus," which races 19-5, fuelled by a No. 4 debut in the United Kingdom on gross sales of 19,000. It's also
